SHORT BIOI was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I have lived in Austin for over thirty-five years but I still haven’t lost my “Noo Awlins” accent!  I still feel like a stranger in a strange land. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Edward’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Photo-Journalism in 1984. I received a number of honors, including being recognized in Who’s Who in American Universities and being named Outstanding Photography Student for 1984. During my undergraduate years, I was also editor of the yearbook. In 1987, I went to graduate school at The University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 1991 with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography. I am a past president of Texas Photographic Society, a past vice-president of Lone Star Photographic Workshops and a past director of PhotoWork Gallery in Austin.  I served as Director of Photography for the Texas House of Representatives from 1996 to 2003.From 2001-2006, I returned to my alma mater, St. Edward’s University, to teach digital photography. Over the past twenty years, my photographs have received many awards and honors.  My photographs have been published in numerous magazines and publications among which are Third Coast, Landscapes, Texas Hill Country Magazine, Nursing Today, Texas Monthly and Texas Gardener Magazine.
