Vitae

SHORT BIOI was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Even though I’ve lived in Austin for many years I still haven’t lost my “Noo Awlins” accent!  I still feel like a stranger in a strange land. In 1984, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Edward’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Photography. While at SEU I received a number of honors, including being recognized in Who’s Who in American Universities, named Outstanding Photography Student for 1984 and editor of the yearbook. In 1987, I went to graduate school at The University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 1991 with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography. I am a past president of Texas Photographic Society, a past vice-president of Lone Star Photographic Workshops and a past director of PhotoWork Gallery in Austin.  I served as Director of Photography for the Texas House of Representatives from 1996 to 2003. From 2001-2006, I returned to my alma mater, St. Edward’s University, to teach digital photography. Over the years, my photographs have received many awards and honors.  My photographs have been published in numerous magazines and publications.
